Hello all!
First of all, for those of you curious about the novel I am reading aloud to my homeroom, it is called The Time and Space of Uncle Albert. It explores physics through the eyes of Einstein's niece, Gedanken. Anyway, if you wanted to learn more, here is a link to Amazon.
Math:
Students compared decimals using 5 strategies. I have included a picture of our notes here. Students also have these in their journal and it is posted in the classroom.
Science:
We introduced 6 types of energy: solar, mechanical, light, sound, electrical and thermal. Students investigated mechanical energy this week by building ruler ramps. They were able to change the potential and kinetic energy of a marble traveling down the ramp based on its position.
