Hooray for the weekend! Your kids have been working SO hard this week and they deserve a break!
Math:
STAAR review has been our world. The kids are making huge strides and have become very familiar with STAAR type questions. In class we review the toughest problems, look for "traps" so we don't fall for them, and review strategies for success. Students that hit our goal get to hang out in the "strategy lounge" and those that need support get to work one on one with me to find errors and review what they need. Their confidence is soaring and I am so proud of them all!
Next week is STAAR. Tuesday, 4/21 is the math test. The rest of the week we will focus more on science.
Science:
We built our terrariums this week and planted several different types of producers. We have watered them and seen some germinate and sprout. Children are observing their aquariums as well, looking for growth and change. Next week we will add crickets and ispods to our terrariums. If you have any in your yards, bring them to school and we will use them in our ecocolumns!
Have a wonderful weekend! Next week will be wild and crazy with testing schedules, but it will be fun.
