What a wonderful time it was as I completed my first week of “total teach” with your kids! In reading, we focused on persuasive texts, and integrated our reading and social studies time together to work on our Texas regions infomercials. Students worked in groups to persuade viewers why their region of Texas was the absolute best. We filmed the infomercials on Friday, and boy, were they persuasive! (and funny too!) In math, we worked on adding and subtracting decimals. To conclude our science unit over matter, we made an informative brochure about matter, and took that as a test grade. After working long and hard on our personal narratives, we concluded the week with our first publishing party in the library. Every fourth grade student gathered together, and we did a giant “mix, pair, share”, and heard personal narratives from new friends in other classes. What fun!
