Week 7 has come and gone in a flash.
Math:
We introduced fractions with a bang. There was a lot of exploration and connecting learning to last year's objectives. Homework proved to be a challenge for many, my apologies. Having a substitute Thursday threw off our game a bit. However, it provided me with some important feedback that will guide my lesson plans in Week 8. We will jump into equivalent fractions and comparing fractions a little more deeply before moving on to adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators.
Science:
We finished up our unit on matter by investigating mixtures and solutions. The kids also worked on beautiful brochures that explained everything they have learned about matter. They are on display in the hall outside my room. Take a look when you are here for conferences. Next week, we discuss different types of energy and move into more physics.
